Software QA Tester

Position Description

3C Institute is seeking candidates for a Software QA Tester. The primary responsibilities of the software QA tester may include the following:

  • Working with development teams to ensure that we release quality web-based applications, web-based services, and games.
  • Providing detailed reports to development teams based on quality testing and customer feedback.
  • Tracking testing reports for resolution and retesting.
  • Providing phone and e-mail support for end users and as a backup for internal IT needs.
  • Maintaining test equipment and testing environments.


  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness
  • Advanced knowledge of web browsers and technologies (IE 7, 8, 9, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Flash, etc.)
  • Solid knowledge of general desktop computing technologies (Windows, Mac, Microsoft Office, Adobe Reader, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and in speech
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to follow issues to their resolution
  • Ability to investigate and troubleshoot user reports and efficiently escalate issues as needed

Additional Experience (Helpful but not required)

  • Light experience with web development technologies (HTML, PHP, Javascript, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of test methodologies
  • Experience with testing automation tools
  • Experience in a customer service role
  • Experience with troubleshooting Windows/Mac desktop systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Server technologies (Active Directory/Exchange)

Employment Type:  Entry-level, full-time employee

Degree Requirements: Four-year degree in computer science or a technology-related field or equivalent combination of experience/education.
