Client Success Manager

3C Institute is a social impact R&D company located in the Durham (RTP) area of North Carolina. 3C designs and creates custom software applications to improve health and well-being on a global scale.

3C is a growing company and this is a new position with ample opportunities for future growth and expansion/refinement into the future. This position combines project coordination/management duties with business development activities.

Job Description & Requirements

Business Development
  • As a Client Success Manager, you will work closely with the CEO to grow 3C’s client portfolio, by securing new and expanding current clients of 3C’s software development services. Duties will include: (a) lead meetings (phone & webinar) with prospective clients; (b) translate information gathered from clients into a detailed Statement of Work (SOW) to achieve the client’s vision for the software application; (c) consult with 3C’s developers to generate staff time estimates; (d) negotiate SOWs and contracts with clients; and (e) negotiate change orders as needed with existing clients. 3C has established procedures, tools, and templates to accomplish each of these tasks. The CEO will provide training and on-going supervision and support for all business development activities.
Project Management
  • As a Client Success Manager, you will be part of the project management (PM) team at 3C. You will have the opportunity to see client software development projects through the design, development, and real-world use phases by serving as the PM for assigned projects. Duties will include: (a) attend and lead full-team project meetings; (b) establish the agenda for each meeting by proactively seeking input from the client and internal staff (including holding internal project meetings as needed) and share out the agenda ahead of project meetings with the client; (c) serve as the main point of contact for all (internal and external) team members and facilitate communication and collaboration among team members; (d) monitor and ensure adherence to timeline, scope, and milestones; (e) ensure decisions align with project vision and are in accordance with timeline and budget; (f) negotiate changes to the project scope in consultation with the CEO; (g) oversee project budget, track project ‘burn rate,’ and report progress to leadership at 3C; and (h) organize and maintain all needed project documentation. 3C has established procedures, tools, and templates to accomplish each of these tasks.

To be successful in this role, you must be confident with excellent verbal communication skills (able to think on your feet, communicate clearly and concisely). You must also be an active listener who is able to accurately understand what the client is asking for and then translate the client’s requirements and specifications into 3C’s technology offerings. You must have excellent written communication skills for clear, concise, and direct email, SOW, and other written communications (both internally with 3C staff and externally with clients). And, you must be proactive in your communications (initiate and see out information, do not hang back and wait). Further, both sets of duties require a high level of organization and oversight, so you must enjoy spreadsheets and be highly organized and detail oriented.

3C is a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary environment of highly experienced software developers, game developers, researchers, graphic artists, animators, and instructional content developers and editors. Anyone working at 3C must be highly collaborative and work well with others on a multi-disciplinary team.

Additional Experience (Helpful to have, but not required) 

  • Prior experience managing software development projects;
  • Training or experience in behavioral health or education fields; and
  • Sales or marketing experience in behavioral health related services.

Degree Requirements: 4-year Bachelor’s degree required; Graduate degree a plus
