Two titles from the LifeStories for Kids™ Series have won 2008 Communicator Awards. The Communicator Awards are judged and overseen by the International Academy of the Visual Arts (IAVA). The IAVA is a membership-based organization of leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media. Founded by communication professionals over a decade ago, The Communicator Awards received over 8,000 entries from companies and agencies of all sizes, making it one of the largest awards of its kind in the world.
The titles “I Am a Frog” and “Anansi and the Turtle” won awards in the Children’s Audience category. Additionally, the LifeStories for Kids promotional DVD won a Communicator Award in the self-promotion category.
The award-winning LifeStories for Kids Series is designed to help children understand complex character traits like integrity, perseverance and courage. LifeStories for Kids was honored with the coveted iParenting Media Award and a Telly Award in 2007.
Each of the 20 titles in the LifeStories for Kids Series features a DVD with a nationally-acclaimed storyteller and an illustrated storybook with a parent guide. The guides help parents and caregivers initiate discussions which explore and enhance the positive messages presented in the story.
