3-C ISD's innovative programs and services are the result of rigorous research, a deep commitment to improve the social-emotional health of children and families, and the creative collaboration of our diverse and talented staff, advisors, partners, and clients.
The three Cs in 3-C ISD stand for communication, cooperation, and confidence. These three skills are essential for developing and maintaining healthy relationships and represent the foundation of our work in improving the social, emotional, and mental health of children and families.
Our success is built upon a unique set of highly talented and skilled staff representing a wide array of professional expertise and experience. Every project benefits from the contributions of all the teams working together in collaboration to combine efforts and produce the most innovative, high-quality, effective product possible.
In an effort to bridge the research-practice gap, Dr. Melissa DeRosier founded 3-C Institute for Social Development (3-C ISD) in 2001. Since its inception, 3-C ISD has received grant funding from NIH to develop and test a wide variety of interventions, including social skills programs for children, adolescents, and parents, behavioral interventions for diverse youth, and classroom interventions to improve school climate.
We have established a wide network of partners representing diverse disciplines (e.g., computer science, statistics, psychiatry, disabilities, neuroscience). For any particular project, 3-C ISD has multiple external partners who support the objectives of the project through collaboration and consultation.
3-C ISD's scientific advisory board members are committed to providing our staff with guidance, consultation, and assistance as needed across multiple ongoing projects.
Our intervention programs and materials are not only extremely effective and engaging, they have also been honored by well-respected review agencies. And we continue to build on those successes through new research and development projects.
Our quarterly newsletter is designed to inform families and professionals about our current work and research findings. This online archive is just one way that researchers at 3-C ISD are bridging the research-practice gap.
