Innovations in Training Developed by the 3-C Institute for Social Development

Our curriculum offerings are designed for use by K-12 teachers and counselors — an audience that typically is stretched for time and resources. Attending day-long training programs is therefore cost-prohibitive, especially if conducted off-site.

The solution: on-line, video-based training. Schools that purchase curriculum kits from SELmedia, our sister company, receive access to a secure online portal that offers, among other things, a comprehensive training system. With this innovative approach to a common need, educators:

  • can complete the training at their convenience
  • can refresh their knowledge by accessing the training throughout the year
  • save their schools time and money

And as new teachers come on during the year, they don’t miss out on the training.

The training programs, generally 6-hours long, are broken down into chapters and then by sections within each chapter. Highly visual navigation tools show the user exactly where they are in the program, tracks progress and makes it easy to move around as desired — play, pause, repeat sections. And because people learn in different ways, the display can be customized to show the video, hear only the audio portion or view only the presenter’s slides.

A proprietary video streaming technology ensures a smooth viewing experience — no more lengthy download times, even over a dial-up connection. A test at the end of the training program must be successfully completed to obtain CE credit and the system will ensure that the trainee has completed the course prior to taking the test.
