Dr. Melissa DeRosier obtained her M.A. in Developmental Psychology from the University of Virginia and her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She served as a post-doctoral fellow in Mental Health Services Research at the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry department of Duke University Medical Center. Dr. DeRosier has many years experience working with children in both clinical and research settings with an emphasis on children?s social relationships with peers and parents. Her primary area of interest is in the development of social-emotional interventions for schools and community agencies that are proven effective for improving the social, emotional, behavioral, and academic health of children. Dr. DeRosier founded 3-C ISD to create evidence-based programs that address significant societal issues, such as school violence, social deficits of children and adolescents, and the development of psychopathology. Dr. DeRosier has served as the principal investigator for numerous NIH-funded projects focused on developing and testing interventions for child social development and mental health, as well as developing professional training resources for youth mental health services and research.
