Biography
Ms. Brightwood, LCSW is the Director of Curriculum Development at 3-C ISD. She completed her MSW at the University of Kentucky and has been a practicing clinician for over a decade. She is an avid writer and artist, as well. She enjoys the challenge of bringing innovative curricula to life with creative, out-of-the-box thinking. Ms. Brightwood has designed and authored multiple curricula to help children enhance social and emotional learning, character education, and manage grief and bereavement. She is the author and illustrator of numerous books for children.

Carol Cofiori is the Business Manager for 3-C Institute for Social Development, Inc, 3-C Family Services, P.A. and SELmedia, Inc. Her primary job responsibility is to ensure a positive and organized work environment for 3-C and SELmedia. She also serves as a Team Leader for the 3-C administrative staff. Ms. Cofiori received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a concentration Public Relations from East Carolina University in Greenville, NC.

Katie Garard is the Finance Manager for 3-C Institute for Social Development, Inc, 3-C Family Services, P.A. and SELmedia, Inc. She is also a part of company management and serves as a Team Leader. Her primary job responsibility is overall financial management for all three companies including both analysis and daily functions. Ms. Garard received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in finance and communication from Meredith College in Raleigh, NC.

Dr. McMillen is the Research Director at 3-C Institute for Social Development. She received her Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she currently holds appointments at FPG Child Development Institute and the School of Education. Biography
Mr. Habel has a B.S. in Computer Science from NC State University with a degree in computer science. He has experience designing and developing web applications and creating interactive user experiences with flash. As the game developer at 3-C Institute for Social Devleopment, Mr. Habel is working to create computer games that aim to promote pro-social skills in children.

Dr. Harrell is a research associate at 3-CISD. She earned her doctorate in Child and Family Development/Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Georgia. Dr. Harrell holds a joint appointment with 3-CISD’s partner company, 3-C Family Services, where she serves as a therapist specializing in the assessment and treatment of adolescents, families, and couples. Her primary research interests are adolescent development, promoting resilience factors in minority children and families, and social intervention strategies.

Dr. Lambert is a senior researcher at 3-C Institute for Social Development. His research interests include classification and measurement of behavioral, emotional , and social functioning in children, adults and families internationally with special focuses on behavioral and emotional strengths and difficulties in children and families of the African Diaspora as well as attitudes and behavior toward behavioral and emotional difficulties in children and adults internationally.

Kevin Moore is a Video Editor and Compositor at 3-C Institute for Social Development. Mr. Moore has been awarded two Student Emmys (Local Music Venues): one for his work as an editor and cameraman, and the second for Technical Achievement (Hat Amnesty public service announcement).

Lorlita Spann is a Research Assistant at 3-C ISD. She received her B.S. in Psychology with a concentration in Developmental Psychology from Duke University. Lorlita's research background encompasses intervention/prevention work with preadolescent and adolescent substance use, peer relational aggression, early childhood development, observational methods, and Child Protective Services Reform. Her current research interests include early childhood social development, future orientation as it relates to at-risk youth and deviant behaviors, self identity, and the role of media in disseminating child development and education research.
