Job Description
3-C Institute for Social Development (3-C ISD) is seeking candidates for a Research Associate position. Researchers at 3-C ISD have the opportunity to work on multiple federally funded projects that focus on applied child and family psychology, intervention trials and researcher training models. Examples of current intervention projects include parent training to improve child and adolescent peer relationships, cultural heritage storytelling to increase social acceptance of diverse cultures and effectiveness of web-based dissemination of evidence-based interventions in school-based settings.
The primary responsibilities of the Research Associate may include:
- supervision of research assistants
- grant writing
- intervention development and testing
- coordination with intervention sites
- participant recruitment
- questionnaire development
- coordination of data collection
- data management
- statistical analyses
- presentation/publication of findings
Job Requirements
Successful candidates will demonstrate excellence in applied research skills, scientific writing and interpersonal communication. Collaborative multidisciplinary team working skills are a must. Experience working with community sites for intervention implementation, particularly in schools, is desirable.

Minimum Experience Required:
- Experience implementing school-based or clinical trials
- Experience conducting behavioral observations
- Experience conducting statistical analyses in SPSS or SAS
- Experience collecting data with children
Degree Requirements:
A Doctoral degree in Psychology, Education or related area of study is preferred. A Master’s degree with commensurate experience will be considered.

Salary is based on education and experience level. Salaries and benefits are competitive with the central NC area.
